Diamond Price Calculator — Key Information
Price Per CaratDiamond price per carat rises sharply at magic sizes: 0.50ct, 0.75ct, 1.0ct, 1.5ct, 2.0ct. Buying just below saves significantly.
Cut ImpactCut is the most important value factor. An Ideal-cut diamond is worth 30-40% more than a Fair-cut diamond of identical carat and grade.
Color GradesD-F are colorless (most valuable). G-J near colorless (great value). K+ shows visible yellow tint.
Clarity GradesFL/IF are flawless. VS1/VS2 have minor inclusions invisible to the naked eye. SI1 inclusions visible under 10x loupe.
Magic SizesA 0.97ct diamond can cost 20-25% less than a 1.00ct of identical quality. Consider shy-cut stones for value.
Price TrendsNatural diamond prices rose 20-30% from 2020-2022, then softened. Lab grown prices have fallen 80%+ since 2019.
